Music

The Leeds SCITT music course prepares you to teach this subject, and also help you understand how music can contribute to whole-school ethos and development. Through practical school-based sessions you will study the teaching and learning of music skills, including singing and playing, composing and improvising, reviewing, analysing and the appropriate use of new technologies.

The introduction of the Key Stage 3 Strategy is changing music lessons, and you will have the chance to learn from experienced practitioners the best ways of developing your own interactive teaching and learning strategies. Over time, you will have the chance to work with pupils in order to support their learning of music knowledge and understanding of musical elements, devices and structures, notation and conventions.
